Holding Cells

My first post-Reichenbach artwork. I was watching the scene where Sherlock and Moriarty both get put in the holding cells during the court case, and I loved how artistically it was shot. So I just had to paint it!

I did this all arse-about; I drew the sketches on paper, then scanned them, then traced over the sketches on Photoshop, then coloured over the sketches. Very time consuming, but I kind of like the result.

You might notice I didn’t add in the bricks, lights or vents in the background. Partly artistic choice, partly pure laziness XD But I wanted the focus to be on their faces, nothing else.

Jude Law as Dr John Watson.

This pissed me off royally to paint, and I don’t know if I’m completely pleased with the result. I seem to have chosen a slightly creepy reference picture. It also took way too long. Again, no downloaded brushes or textures were used.

And now for something completely different, a digital painting!

Sherlock, as portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch.

All done in Photoshop CS2 over 5 hours straight. No downloaded brushes or textures were used, only preset Photoshop brushes. I have hand cramps. Boo.

Sherlock embraces John.

BBC-verse, because why not? Originally drawn on paper, then scanned and traced over on Photoshop CS2 to rid it of fuzzy black patches. And that’s that.
